U.S. Rep. Rudy Yakym (IN-R) announced that he and Rep. Dina Titus (NV-D) will serve as co-chairs of the Congressional RV Caucus for the 118th Congress following a meeting with the RV Industry Association (RVIA) in Elkhart, Indiana.
“I am absolutely thrilled to co-chair and help lead the Congressional RV Caucus along with Congresswoman Titus,” Yakym said. “Indiana’s Second District is the ‘RV Capital of the World,’ and my dear late friend Jackie Walorski fought hard to keep it that way. I am honored to continue Jackie’s legacy of championing this important industry that is the source of so many jobs in our region as well as so many happy memories and traditions for families all across America.”
Walorski died in a head-on crash south of Wakarusa on Aug. 3, 2022. The accident also killed two members of her staff, Zachary Potts and Emma Thomson, and the Nappanee woman who was driving the other vehicle, Edith Schmucker.
Yakym won last November’s election for Walorski’s seat, which ended in 2022, plus a full two-year term.
“As co-chair of the Congressional RV Caucus, I look forward to uplifting Nevada’s status as a premier destination for all kinds of travelers,” Congresswoman Titus said. “Rep. Yakym and I will continue the late Rep. Walorski’s legacy of helping Americans see the country and enjoy the great outdoors.”
“We are very grateful for the leadership role Congressman Yakym and Congresswoman Titus have taken by co-chairing the House RV Caucus,” RVIA Vice President of Government Affairs Jason Rano said. “As the RV industry’s champions on Capitol Hill, these leaders and their fellow caucus members understand the importance and impact of the $140 billion RV industry. We look forward to working with Congressman Yakym and Congresswoman Titus to promote this all-American industry.”
