RV dealerships with pre-delivery inspection centers may not be the norm, but their numbers are growing.
Campers Inn RV, which claims to be the nation’s largest family-operated RV dealership group, opened its pre-delivery inspection center in Elkhart County in November and is hiring more staff because of the continued high demand for RVs.
Campers Inn RV opened the center near the intersection of S.R. 15 and U.S. 20 to help streamline the RV delivery process from the manufacturer to its dealerships. The RV industry has been experiencing high consumer demand since 2020 and has been under immense strain trying to keep up, the company said in a news release.
To keep up, the PDI center is looking to add 20 new employees to its current group of eight.
“As a values-driven company, this prep center is an integral part of the service experience we provide customers,” said Chief Operations Officer Ben Hirsch. “It allows us to identify and fix issues with the RVs before it gets to the consumer, which allows our service centers the ability to focus more on customers who are needing service while traveling, rather than focusing on recently arrived units from the factory.”
