The RV Industry Association invites members of the RV industry to participate in a virtual town hall with the newly appointed Acting National Park Service Director Margaret Everson for a discussion on the what passage of the Great American Outdoors Act means for the National Park Service and the RVers who love to visit the parks.
The virtual townhall will take place at noon ET on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
Earlier this month, Everson was announced as the acting director of the National Parks Service. One of her first responsibilities will be to identify the projects that will receive funding from the Great American Outdoors Act. Everson is very familiar with outdoor recreation and its importance and reliance on national parks, as prior to becoming acting director she was serving as Counselor to Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt. Before that, she worked as Ducks Unlimited’s Chief Policy Officer for four years.
“We are really looking forward to hearing from Acting Director Everson on her vision and goals for addressing the maintenance backlog and campground modernization in the National Park Service,” said Jay Landers, RVIA vice president of government affairs. “Our team has been working very closely with the National Park Service and the Department of the Interior and we are grateful for their leadership in increasing the access, safety, and enjoyment of RVers in our national parks.”
