RV, Marine Industries Convene at NTP-STAG Expo

NTP STAG EXPO

How we talk about our goals matters.

Sterling Hawkins, speaker at NTP-STAG Expo’s kickoff breakfast Monday morning, drove home this point with inspiring examples of how people who have made an impact approached their dreams from a place of “I will.” Saying “I will” instead of simply saying “I want, hope or wish” for something is a game-changer, Hawkins said.

Hawkins addressed the audience of RV and marine industry professionals on the first day of NTP-STAG’s expo at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida. Running through Jan. 16, the expo includes educational sessions and an exhibition hall that combines the RV and marine industries for the first time in its history.

Before expo attendees flooded the hallways to conference rooms to hear from aftermarket companies such as Blue Ox, , Southwire and more, Hawkins challenged the audience to not just embrace the feeling of discomfort – but to seek it out.

People need discomfort in order to grow, he said, and committing to the goal “no matter what” is what we all need to do to find success, Hawkins said, citing his popular mantra and hashtag: #nomatterwhat.

“Your commitment needs to be bigger than your discomfort,” he said.

As an entrepreneur who saw his multimillion-dollar business fail, learning to embrance discomfort and see our way through it is the only way we’ll ever truly achieve what we set out to do, Hawkins said.

“Your biggest wins are inside your greatest challenges,” he said.

The NTP-STAG Expo will continue today with educational sessions, followed by the opening of the expo floor from 5-9 p.m. ET. Tomorrow’s breakfast will feature keynote speaker and basketball legend Bill Walton, sponsored by Carefree of Colorado. The expo will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. ET, followed by a closing reception featuring American Idol winner Noah Thompson, sponsored by Dometic.
