The $2 million capital campaign to construct a 21,000-square-foot manufactured housing museum is accelerating toward the finish line. About 72 percent of the money has been raised to this point, said Hall of Fame President Darryl Searer.
“The new museum and expo center will demonstrate and promote the many reasons for choosing the manufactured home lifestyle,” said Searer. “Exhibits will feature the growth of the industry with actual homes including today’s innovative designs. Displays will show beautiful planned communities, high quality construction materials, efficiency of installation and site improvements, financing and attainability.”
Kickoff donations from manufacturers, industry associations, planned communities, individuals and others have made great strides in raising the funds needed to build and curate the new facility, Searer said.
“Never has there been a facility to showcase how vital our industry is and can be to the housing needs of this country. Construction has commenced for this once-in-a-lifetime project and with continued support it will be accomplished in a first-class manner. Now is the time for individuals and companies to step up and become a part of history and our future,” he added.
