RV Partfinder is celebrating 20 years in business this year.
Tom Utterback created RV Partfinder to fill a void in the RV industry. In 1999, Utterback set out to provide a digital option to view distributor catalogs and cross reference between numerous distributors in lieu of using each of their paper catalogs. Utterback then created another tool, Repair Partfinder, offering the ability to view RV appliance and product breakdowns, manuals, brochures and technical guides.
Today, both programs are combined to create the RV Partfinder.
Designed specifically to benefit the parts and service departments by assisting them in identifying and sourcing parts, RV Partfinder is now used by retail store staff, technicians, and mobile repair businesses, as well.
Not only has RV Partfinder evolved, so has the staff. Utterback says he has gathered the best in the industry working remotely in different parts of the country. The data entry staff has a long history in the RV industry with more than 100 years combined experience.
In the year 2000, RV Partfinder was released. In honor of the 20th anniversary and in keeping up with cutting edge of technology, RV Partfinder will be releasing an app for smartphone and tablet users. Available soon from Apple and Google Play stores, the app features easy access to RV Partfinder and the extensive Library.
Asked why he created RV Partfinder and who benefits the most from using it, Utterback said, “RV Partfinder was part of a series of RV-related software programs developed to benefit the RV industry. I feel the RV industry as a whole benefits from Partfinder, but especially the end user. Best of all, the RV businesses get the credit by acquiring the correct parts for the customer in a timely manner.”
