Jean-François Lussier of Horizon Lussier in Marieville, Quebec, has been elected as the new chairman of the board of the RVDA of Canada. Horizon Lussier is a family-owned and operated RV dealership that has been in business for more than 50 years.
Lussier has been involved in the family business since he was 13 where he held numerous jobs in the business which represented several different types of leisure vehicles (Bombardier snowmobiles, Pinecraft boats and Mercury outboard motors), and eventually RVs.
In the early 1980s, the dealership began to solely sell RVs and became Roulottes Jean Lussier, named after Jean-François’ father. The shop began to add motorized vehicles to its established towables line as well as other camping accessories.
Lussier and his brothers bought the family business from their parents in 1985. He later became the sole proprietor in 2016. Today, Lussier oversees the operations of Horizon Lussier, and has nearly 70 staff members.
The dealership has been a member of the RVDA of Quebec since the beginning, and has participated in provincial and national association efforts in several capacities. Lussier has been president of the RVDA of Quebec, has sat on the national education committee, and has served on the board of the RVDA of Canada since 2010.
