Nick Haarhues from Carefree of Colorado will be recognized at the RV Industry Association’s inaugural RVX Show on March 14th in Salt Lake City, Utah, as a recipient of its “40 under 40” award. This award celebrates the achievements of those who exemplify leadership and inspire others to help grow the RV industry.
Haarhues began with Carefree in 2010 as a junior engineering technician. Today, he is Carefree’s senior engineering technician responsible for supporting and maintaining the manufacturing equipment at Carefree’s production facility in Colorado, which includes the management of more than 100,000 fabric cutting files for the CNC cutting table. Additionally, Haarhues facilitates the implementation of Carefree’s newest products into manufacturing cells.
“His deep knowledge of manufacturing processes and technical skills help him solve the unique requirements of mass-producing custom awnings while minimizing down-time,” said David McMillan, Carefree’s director of engineering. “Nick’s commitment and dedication to the Engineering Team more than qualifies him for this award.”
As a father of two sons, Haarhues enjoys spending time with his family and riding his motorcycle.
“There are few places more beautiful than the outdoors of Colorado,” said Haarhues. “It is a privilege to work in a recreation-based industry, and I am honored to receive this award from RVIA and I thank those who nominated me.”
“I personally want to thank Nick for his hard work and congratulate him for this well-deserved award,” said Carefree of Colorado President Scott Thompson. “Loyal and passionate employees like Nick are what Carefree’s reputation has been built upon for nearly 50 years.”
