The RV Industry Association will host its second seminar, “Creating a Safer Workplace: Practical Directions,” on Nov. 20 at the RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Ind. Registration is open, and attendees can reserve their spot. Registration will end at close of business on Friday, Nov. 15, to ensure proper notification for the lunch caterer.
The event begins at 7 a.m. with a light breakfast. The seminar begins at 8 a.m.
The RV Industry Association welcomes back Ted Schorn as the presenter for the event. Schorn is the VP of quality and technology with Enkei America, where he has worked for the past 31 years. He has authored numerous books and papers where he has been able to share his expertise with others on quality, workplace safety and leadership training. Back in April, Schorn conducted the first seminar on this important topic for RVIA membership entitled “Creating a Safer Workplace: A Leadership Perspective,” that was attended by 125 participants. In the early 2000s, he helped our trailer industry resolve wheel issues. Later, Schorn helped out membership by conducting workshops, addressing product quality.
This program is intended to put “feet” on the earlier seminar that was focused at a plant management and executive level, according to the association. The focus for this shorter program is to reach out to supervisory staff and support staff (engineers) with practical assistance in their job promoting safety through their interaction with people and their monitoring and correction of hazards and other safety risk.
