Bryan Ritchie has been promoted to vice president of standards for the RV Industry Association’s standards department.
Ritchie joined RVIA in April 2021 as the senior director of standards and has been making a significant impact on the industry ever since, according to his employer. He has taken the lead on many projects, such as the roll-out of standards training on the self-regulatory inspection program for association members. He also guided negotiations with Washington state to help reduce plan approval times, led the planned reorganization of NFPA 1192, and improved software that helped RVIA inspectors better utilize their inspection results.
“Bryan has been an instrumental part of the standards department’s continued prioritization of safety and standards adherence,” says Curt Hemmeler, RV Industry Association senior vice president and executive director of the RV Technical Institute. “His leadership skills and industry knowledge are crucial to the standards team’s efforts to conduct inspections, educate our members, and ultimately enhance RV safety.”
“I’m honored to work with such a great team and amazing industry,” said Ritchie. “Our team is always ready to support and educate our members on standards adherence and safety however needed. I look forward to building on and advancing our team’s ongoing efforts and to continuing our support for members in this new role.”
The RV Industry Association’s Standards department maintains a professional team of full-time inspectors that promote the enhancement of safety by monitoring adherence to the standards adopted by the board of directors for the construction of RVs. The team also provides educational resources and hands-on training to manufacturer members. As the new vice president of standards, RVIA said Ritchie will keep the safety of the RV industry at the forefront while continuing to focus on the exploration and impact of electrification on the RV industry and workplace safety.
