As U.S. states begin to lift their stay-at-home orders, results of a new survey by RVillage.com reveal what’s next for RVers, many of who live permanently on the road in their RVs.
Creators of a social media platform that serves the RV community, RVillage said it had more than 11,000 new RVillage accounts created just last month, bringing the total number of its users to more than 220,000.
It said that the survey found that 2,704 survey respondents said when given the green light, they will camp again; perhaps a little differently, and with expectations of less services and amenities.
Other details of the membership survey:
- 94 percent of RVers will continue to travel and feel safe in campgrounds.
- 63 percent say they expect to find some restrictions within the campground – fewer services and more limitations.
- 54 percent have no plans to revise their routes to stay closer to home or medical facilities.
- 36 percent even said they think they’ll camp even more.
- Only 6 percent say they plan to stay “home.”
“RV’s are completely self-sufficient when parked in place, and an alternative to airplanes and cruise ships,” said Curtis Coleman, RVillage founder.
RVillage is providing updates to full-time members on park closures, and continues to keep all members connected, virtually and on the road.
