In a statement issued on Thursday, RVIA said that, “After careful internal review, and discussion with our board of directors, the RV Industry Association has decided to cancel ‘RVs Move America Week’ and ‘Advocacy Day’, scheduled for June 6-10, in Washington, D.C.”
The association said that ongoing restrictions in Washington, D.C., “due to both COVID-19, as well as the restricted access to House and Senate buildings in response to the Jan. 6th events at the U.S. Capitol, make it impossible for the organization to move forward with the event.”
RVIA said committee staff liaisons would work with committee chairpersons regarding the scheduling of virtual committee meetings and that the association’s board meeting will take place virtually as scheduled on Thursday, June 10, 2021.
“The RV Industry Association’s Government Affairs team will continue to monitor developments around future access to House and Senate offices,” it said. “If it is determined that a modified version of Advocacy Day could be successfully held in the fall of 2021, we will explore the possibilities of rescheduling that portion of the event.”
