After a successful pilot class in August 2022, the RV Women’s Alliance (RVWA) and the RV Technical Institute (RVTI) are taking their all-female technical class nationwide in 2023.
Through the partnership, five classes will be offered across the U.S., including in Texas, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Florida and Indiana.
The classes this year will be in Dallas; Tualatin, Oregon; Elkhart, Indiana; Jacksonville, Florida; and Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. Each class will be open to 12 women who are either looking to become RV technicians or women already in the industry looking to enhance their skills. Applications are live and those interested can apply here.
“We are very excited to be expanding our partnership with the RV Technical Institute this year to provide this incredible training opportunity to women currently in our industry and those looking to enter the RV industry,” said RV Women’s Alliance President Susan Carpenter. “There is such a need for trained and certified RV technicians and the RV Technical Institute has the best program around to prepare aspiring RV techs for a successful career.”
In the week-long class, students will gain competencies on seven RV systems, including propane, plumbing, electrical, appliances, generators, body and chassis, providing the working knowledge necessary to perform pre-delivery inspections.
Upon completion, those who wish to can move on and take RVTI’s Level 2 course.
“Students will enjoy lunch provided each day thanks in part to our generous sponsors,” RVWA said in its announcement. “Sponsorship opportunities are still available and those looking to sponsor learn more here.”
