Lippert Components announced the Somnum EnviroSpring mattress will be displayed at four national collegiate housing and sustainability conferences.
Somnum’s EnviroSpring mattress is 100 percent recyclable. The EnviroSpring’s “dual-density” construction allows for both firm support and soft comfort by flipping the mattress from one side to the other. The EnviroSpring’s unique, recyclable polymer/fiber core provides all of the comfort of a standard innerspring mattress, without adding weight from traditional steel innersprings.
“One of the main issues that we had identified was the way in which colleges and universities with on-campus housing were handling the disposal of their dormitory mattresses. Colleges and universities send hundreds, or even thousands, of mattresses to landfills every year, and we wanted to develop a mattress that would put an end to that,” said Mike Padrnos, business development manager for the Somnum mattress line. “The beauty of the EnviroSpring mattress is in its ability to be deconstructed after years of use and recycled into a brand new EnviroSpring mattress.”
The EnviroSpring will be displayed at four national collegiate expositions in 2018:
