Software company Integrated Dealer Systems (IDS) unveiled survey findings that spotlight dealers’ expected challenges, technology interests and sales channel focuses for 2022.
The RV industry (and the world) is still experiencing the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, but despite challenges, IDS said many dealerships were able to not only stay afloat but thrive in 2020 – with continued success in 2021. The company found the RV industry is expected to grow by 7 percent between 2019 and 2025.
Optimizing technology will be a focus for 27 percent of dealers in their parts ordering and inventory management, with service management and work being a technology focus for 33 percent of dealers. On the other hand, the survey showed 65 percent of dealers don’t have an online catalog.
Alternative and eco-friendly features will be a priority for only 23 percent of dealer respondents.
Regarding events, 56 percent of dealers said they plan to attend in-person.
Spotlighting biggest challenges, the highest concern – 34 percent of dealer responses – is parts shortages. Hiring and retaining talent was the next biggest challenge for dealers at 27 percent, with fixing service bottlenecks the concern for 19 percent of dealers.
