TAXA Outdoors, manufacturer of lightweight, minimalist mobile habitats for outdoor experiences, announced the 2024 “evolutions” of its Mantis and Woolly Bear trailers and its all-new rooftop tents, the MoonMoth Clamshell and MoonMoth Foldout, designed for use with TAXA habitats and almost any vehicle.
The new updates were inspired by the brand’s minimalist and innovative design ethos, the company said in a release Wednesday, and feature new layout configurations with increased off-grid power solutions, customized lighting, optimized storage and more.
“Our 2024 evolutions and the launch of TAXA rooftop tents embody our commitment to continuously improving outdoor endeavors and enhancing the experience that our habitats provide,” said Garrett Finney, founder and chief design officer of TAXA Outdoors. “Our goal is for folks to spend most of their time exploring nature and return to a basecamp that has been thoughtfully crafted to support their adventures. We continuously listen to our customers and evolve our habitats to meet their specific use cases.”
TAXA’s Mantis and Woolly Bear are getting the following updates for 2024:
- Mantis: 2024 Evolution updates to Mantis include a new tail layout with a third seating option and flexible back seats, optimized under-bed storage, redesigned storage towers, thicker 3.5-inch cushions, customizable Bluetooth-controlled RGB LEDs, quick disconnect awning brackets, a Victron Smart
The 2024 TAXA Woolly Bear. Voltmeter for battery monitoring visually or via app, and an upgraded kitchen core design. The 2024 Mantis starts at $45,750.
- Woolly Bear: 2024 Evolution updates to the Woolly Bear include a redesigned kitchen storage system with an anti-scratch and rust-proof HDPE base, quick disconnect awning brackets, shore power connectivity, a sliding tray for power station upgrades and Bluetooth-controlled interior RGB LEDs via the Casambi app. The 2024 Woolly Bear starts at $13,999.
Additionally, TAXA is launching its first rooftop tents in two models, including a clamshell and foldout design.

The TAXA MoonMoth Clamshell. MoonMoth Clamshell: The MoonMoth Clamshell is TAXA’s small-footprint, aluminum hard-shell rooftop tent. With sleeping space for two to three campers on a two-inch foam mattress, it offers easy setup and comfort.
