Greenwich, Ohio-based Thermo-Tec, a manufacturer of thermal protection products for the automotive aftermarket, now offers three new heat and sound barrier products for motorhomes.
All three made-in-the-USA products are specifically designed to reduce heat transfer, minimize sound vibration and ambient noise for a much-improved ride, or to protect sensitive under-the-hood electrical components from extreme heat – a cause of component failure on the road.
The Thermo-Guard FR is a heat and sound insulator designed for interior use; it reduces ambient road noise and absorbs vibration.
The Thermo-Tec Aluminized Heat Barrier was developed for use on the exterior of any RV or motorhome. It has a highly reflective surface made of woven Silica with an aluminized finish to reduce radiant heat up to 2000°F.
It’s available as an adhesive-backed sheet or non-adhesive, and it can be installed using rivets with a backup washer, or installed with Thermo-Tec’s Heavy-Duty Adhesive Spray or Thermo-Tec Snap Straps, especially useful for installing around manifolds or exhaust systems.
The company’s Cool-It Mat is designed for exterior or interior use. Just ½-inch thick, it reduces heat and noise around the driver compartment of a motorhome. The company also recommends using it around the firewall, floorboards, and doors, as well as under the hood or above transmission housings.
