The iNDUS smart sanitation system by Thetford has won a Red Dot award for high design quality, the company announced.
Red Dot’s international jury awarded the iNDUS system, which is a smart sanitation system that allows RV users more convenience, more hygiene, and more freedom, the company said.
In the product description of the iNDUS system, Thetford said this: “With iNDUS, RV users can be off-grid for up to seven days. The iNDUS discharge module supports one-stop discharging of grey and black water, in a very hygienic and flexible way. No more walking around with the waste-holding tank is needed, and iNDUS prevents the risk of splashes and malodors. The iNDUS toilet is an innovative macerator toilet with a soft close seat and cover. A great amount of freshwater is saved by an efficient toilet flush and by re-using grey water to flush the toilet. The three specially-developed additives are dosed automatically via the iNDUS dosing module, using exactly the amount needed. All actions are supported by the Thetford iNDUS app, giving RV users a complete real-time overview of tank levels, cartridge levels, off-grid time, and discharge locations. Sanitation has never been easier.”
The Red Dot award, founded in 1955, is considered internationally to be one of the most sought-after quality marks for good design.
“The winners of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021 were particularly impressive this year,” said Red Dot CEO, Dr. Peter Zec. “The design of their products is excellent, in terms of both aesthetics and functionality. It’s not easy to prevail in such a strong field of competitors and to win over our jury.”
The iNDUS smart sanitation system can be seen in the online exhibition Red Dot will showcase on its website beginning June 21, which also marks the beginning of the Red Dot Design Week, during which this year’s award winners will be honored online.
There will also be a Red Dot Design Yearbook, which comes out in August.
