LAS VEGAS – Moving the RV Dealers Association Convention/Expo to Paris Las Vegas seems to have given the show a jolt of energy.
That was evident not only during the Opening General Session and Keynote Address, but also during the subsequent first hours of the Expo. Nowhere was it on better display than in the area devoted to RV manufacturers.
In past years, the few manufacturers in attendance were relegated to a side room near the dealers’ lounge at Bally’s. This year, manufacturers such as Travel Lite, Northern Lite Campers, Weekend Warrior, Erwin Hymer, Forest River and Gulf Stream are in the main Expo hall along with suppliers and vendors.
And almost immediately, the new spotlight paid off.
Dealers again swarmed Travel Lite’s new Evoke travel trailer, which had proven popular at Open House Week in September. In addition, Travel Lite had a smaller Evoke X on display, which President Dustin Johns said will come in six floorplans.
The larger Evoke was displayed with white sidewalls this time as opposed to its darker sibling at Open House.
“Traffic has been great, and we have even stronger expectations for what this line will do,” he said.
Johns said Travel Lite’s second plant will be up to full production in two weeks and will only be manufacturing Evoke and Evoke X. The company’s existing plant will continue production of Travel Lite’s Falcon trailers and campers, allowing Travel Lite to keep up with the escalating demand for its Evoke products.
Evoke X features a similar chic style and feel as its larger brother, but on a smaller scale. The 21-foot Evoke X, too, will feature a fiberglass cap and sidewalls with LED lighting in the front cap. Pass-through storage under the front bedroom gives ample storage space. An awning covers much of the passenger side.
On the interior, it includes a Duralux marine-grade vinyl flooring.
Other features include a front bed, mid-kitchen with Dometic refrigerator and stove as well as a Furrion microwave and hood.
A dry bath takes up the rear portion of the trailer.
Johns said he is pleased with the turnout his display received on the first day he has ever exhibited at an RVDA Expo, and he is hoping for a similar turnout on Day 2.
