Rivacold, a European leader in refrigeration and cooling systems, will soon be manufacturing some of their Vitrifrigo brand in Georgia. The company has invested $5 million in the new facility in Buford, Ga., that is expected to employ 140 skilled manufacturing employees, as Rivacold continues to expand its U.S. operations.
Rivacold currently employs more than 1,200 people in their worldwide operations.
“After 53 years of leading refrigeration innovation design and service in Europe, we are excited to establish our first manufacturing plant to service the North American market,” said Doug Schmidt, president of Rivacold North America. “Our proven unique advantage is our ability to provide cooling solutions which are customized to the client’s requirements. Throughout our experience, we’ve learned that the only way to service customers properly is to have local design and manufacturing. We’ve added additional sales and marketing support, dedicated to RV manufacturers that will be incorporating our refrigerators and freezers into their newest products.”
Vitrifrigo will be exhibiting the new DRW180A, all-in-one compressor drawer refrigerator system. With the touch of a button, a user can configure one drawer as a refrigerator and one as a freezer, both as refrigerators or both as freezers. The units require no outside venting and have a stainless-steel finish with a vented panel and integrated door latch.
The second unit, the Slim 150, is ideal for Class B and Class C motorhomes built on the Mercedes-Benz, RAM ProMaster and Ford Transit chassis. Features include an AIRLOCK latch system, low noise level, reduced energy consumption during the evening hours, and the ability to quickly reach desired temperature level (Turbo Mode). The 16-liter freezer can store frozen food at a temperature of zero degrees Fahrenheit.
“Beyond the two new units, we will have our regular dorm style system featuring a light silver color in sync with the new trend of lighter cabinetry,” said Nelson Pinheiro, sales director. “This creates a brighter and harmonized ambience for the consumers. OEMs that want to evaluate Vitrifrigo products versus what they’re currently building into their RVs can call me directly. I will walk them through our wider portfolio of products and possibly even provide an evaluation unit for testing/trial.”
Vitrifrigo will be at the RV Hall Of Fame Supplier Show at booth No. 7.
