40 Under 40: Richard Vermillion
Service Manager; General RV (South Weber); With company: 1 year | Industry experience: 19 years

Richard Vermillion has committed nearly two decades of service to the RV industry, advancing through roles of increasing responsibility across parts, service and operations.
“His path has taken him from the parts counter to senior management, giving him a rare, well-rounded perspective on dealership performance. He has successfully led both service and parts operations at some of the largest organizations in our industry, consistently driving growth, efficiency and stronger customer experiences. Today, as service manager at our South Weber location, Rich brings that wealth of experience to building and leading a high-performing team from the ground up,” says nominator Robert Jensen.
All of his experience culminated in what General RV needed to build and lead the service department at its newest location in South Weber. Nominator Paxton Jensen says launching the new dealership in South Weber came with challenges in vendor relationships, logistics and customer support.
“Rich’s broad industry background and deep network of connections allowed him to secure reliable partnerships and quickly establish a foundation for smooth operations. His leadership eased the growing pains
of a new market and positioned South Weber for long-term success,” Paxton says.
Richard’s leadership style is one of culture building and leading by example.
“His expertise has transformed the service team from reactive to proactive, shifting the focus from ‘putting out fires’ to creating a seamless customer experience. By setting high standards and holding himself accountable first, he inspires his team to exceed expectations and embrace continuous improvement,” says Paxton.
Richard’s work has been recognized at a national level throughout his career, earning multiple awards for productivity and operational excellence.
Outside of work, Richard spends time with his family and giving back to the community.
“Rich values family above all else. He finds joy in supporting his children’s passions — from cheering on the sidelines of a soccer game to applauding from the audience at a theater performance — and in creating new adventures and memories through travel and exploration,” says Paxton.
Richard gives back by coaching his daughter’s little league soccer team and providing his shop as a practice space for an inner-city Mighty Mite football program during bad weather. He’s also a competitive paintballer, a skilled poker player and an avid sports fan.
“Rich is exactly the type of leader our industry needs for the future. Over nearly 20 years he has built a reputation for driving results, transforming service operations and creating cultures where both employees and customers thrive,” says Robert. “What sets Rich apart, however, is not just his professional accomplishments but the balance he maintains — devoted to his family, active in his community and passionate about advancing the RV lifestyle.”
Richard’s advice for up-and-coming leaders in the RV industry:
Every day presents a remarkable opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of those you encounter. Whether it’s a colleague or a customer, your efforts matter and have a profound impact. Embrace that chance to create positive change.
