Travis’ advice for up-and-coming leaders in the RV industry:
A quote that continues to shape the leader I am today comes from the late, great Deacon Earl Simmons. He once said, “To live is to suffer, but to survive is to find the meaning in the suffering.” This quote is a reminder for me that pain is inevitable, but purpose is optional. Life will hand you moments of joy, pain, frustration and sadness, and I have learned that if your suffering doesn’t fuel you, doesn’t push you toward a purpose, then it is time to reevaluate your path. We choose whether our suffering becomes a stepping stone or stumbling block. Struggling without meaning leads to burnout. But to struggle with intention? That builds character, resilience and leadership.
What it means to Travis to be a 40 Under 40 honoree:
Being named a 40 Under 40 honoree in the RV industry is an incredible honor and humbling experience. It represents not just a personal achievement but the collective efforts of the mentors, role model parents who always believed in me and all the colleagues who’ve helped shape my journey in an industry I am passionate about. This recognition motivates me to keep leading with purpose and to help shape the future of our industry.
