Model Year 2026 Preview: Storyteller Overland & Kropf Industries

Storyteller Overland

From refreshed interiors and upgraded exteriors to introducing a new GEAR MODE designed for a broader group of outdoor enthusiasts, Storyteller Overland continues to evolve its lineup with a focus on function, flexibility and the user experience.

“We’re always looking at how we can push boundaries while keeping the customer experience simple and turnkey,” says Summer Trammell, Storyteller Overland’s chief engagement officer. “That means not just building something that looks good on a lot, but creating something you can actually take out and trust in the wild.”

Built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 144-inch High Roof AWD chassis, the company’s new GEAR MODE includes essential adventure features such as a queen-size bed, seating for three (with an option to upgrade to four), a 3.7kWh Lithionics battery system (upgradeable to 11.2kWh), dual exhaust fans, diesel-fired hydronic heat and an outdoor shower. It’s also prewired for a rooftop AC unit and RV Industry Association-certified, making it fully insurable and eligible for RV financing.

On the exterior, all model year 2026 144-inch MODE’s will feature Storyteller’s cohesive nVader Equipment Suite — a rugged, bolt-on system of modular accessories designed to boost utility and off-road readiness. These upgrades are paired with the EVICTUS Performance Package, offering enhanced suspension and wheel components aimed at improving the ride on uneven terrain.

Each of Storyteller’s signature MODEs has received thoughtful adjustments for 2026, according to Trammell:

The 2026 BEAST MODE is fully outfitted for serious off-road exploration with a complete nVader setup, including a roof rack, brush guard, ladder, Modular Rear Rack 2.0, running boards and storage box. It also features EVICTUS Advantage Suspension and Wheels to deliver enhanced clearance, improved shock absorption and a smoother ride in rugged environments.

The 2026 DARK MODE balances everyday usability and rugged capability. It comes equipped with the nVader roof rack, brush guard, ladder and Modular Rear Rack 2.0. DARK MODE provides owners with key utility and visual styling upgrades while maintaining a more streamlined build. DARK MODE is perfect for adventurers wanting off-road capability and a sleek, understated design.

The 2026 CLASSIC MODE van retains the core elements of the versatile Storyteller lineup, while featuring a redesigned exterior package. It includes the nVader roof rack, brush guard and ladder. CLASSIC MODE is great for travelers who want a dependable, adventure-ready van with a clean and functional design, Trammell adds.

The 2025 launch of CREW MODE, Storyteller’s first build on the 170-inch Sprinter chassis, also marked a significant step for the company. This model safely seats and sleeps up to five, thanks to the introduction of the TroupeLounge, a queen-size bed that transforms into a workspace or social area, and the LunarLoft, a powered, air-conditioned upper loft bed with its own ventilation.

Storyteller Overland continues to focus on more than vehicles — it fosters a community. The 2026 model year marks the first full calendar year of STORYTELLERS, an official owners group organized into nine regional chapters. Through a dedicated app, members can share resources, coordinate events and connect at overlanding rallies and casual campouts across the country.

Rather than chasing bold redesigns, Trammell says Storyteller’s 2026 lineup reflects a deeper investment in refinement, reliability and community connection. For those attending this year’s Open House, Storyteller will again be set up across from the RV/MH Hall of Fame.

Kropf Industries

The focus will be on meticulous construction, incorporating features like durable dovetail drawers, silent soft-close hardware and slow-close toilets. Furthermore, the standard placement of lighting and receptacles will be streamlined for a seamless user experience.

In addition to multiple new floorplans, in 2026 Kropf will also showcase three distinct two-bedroom floorplans with varying amenities and price points. Outdoor hospitality developers as well as individual owners continue to seek comfortable adult space, and this year’s featured two-bedroom floorplans serve as a reminder of just how plentiful the options are with Kropf.

“A two-bed, two-full bath Eldorado floorplan utilizes every square inch of space and shows off the luxurious standard features expected in Kropf’s top-of-the-line series,” says Liz Wogoman, designer at Kropf Industries.

In addition to incorporating new, innovative floorplan designs, Kropf Industries is also ushering in new state-of-the-art entertainment technologies, extended storage and cabinetry solutions, exterior porch features and streamlined NanaWall windows.

“Kropf Industries prides ourselves on the ability to marry form and function. Initial aesthetic appeal is supported by usable floorplans, functional comforts and careful attention to detail,” Wogoman says. “Our custom and high-end features continue to surpass expectations. Features like Diamond Kote siding, exterior porches and completely custom Eldorados have seen constant, steady growth.”

RV enthusiasts embrace Kropf’s park models thanks in part to the aesthetic interior and exterior designs. Exterior decorative finishes, such as etched glass railings and decorative wood rafters, and contemporary and well-defined interior comforts maintain attention beyond first glance.

“While the general market remains cautious, Kropf’s backlog has continued to grow. The RV industry as a whole is working harder, innovating more and improving customer experience in order to come out the other side even better than before,” Wogoman says. “Kropf’s 2026 Open House will serve as a celebration of 80 years in business. There will be even more units on display than ever before, and each will remain true to our tradition of quality and versatility.”

Kropf’s Open House is held annually at its manufacturing facility at 58647 state Road 15 in Goshen, Indiana.
