Open House 2025: THOR’s KZ RV

Durango

Catering to the half-ton truck market, KZ RV will debut smaller models and reposition its Durango HT price point with a lower dry weight and GVWR.

The new D220RKD is a rear kitchen couple’s unit with side aisle bath, wardrobe slide and sits at 25 feet, 11 inches long. In addition, the D232MLD is a mid-living unit with a wardrobe slide at just 28 feet, 11 inches long.

New standard features for the brand include a black glass entry door with friction hinge, shade prep and a second solar port on the roof, which equates to easy expandable prep, the company says. Carefree slideout awning prep, hidden hinges on cabinet doors, EZ Lift dinette table base and a 12-volt French door refrigerator round out additional standard features.

“We like to come up with unique floorplans or unshoppable features that make our products stand out from our competitors. In our Durango HT brand, we offer washer/dryer prep in the bedroom, so even in a small fifth wheel, a customer can still add a combo,” says Brent Forman, general manager.

“Price points are important today with dealers and our customers, so we have to find ways to keep our costs down.”

KZ RV will exhibit at the THOR display at the RV/MH Hall of Fame.

Sportster

KZ’s toy hauler brand Sportster is relaunching for 2025 with its new Sportster X and a complete line redesign. Two floorplans will be available — 3915X and 3914X, with three more fifth wheels and two travel trailers launching soon.

Standard features include generator prep, AC prep with an optional third AC, rear power bed with rollover sofas, full pass-through storage and six-point leveling. Options include a three-seasons patio and generator.

The overall look of the toy hauler will catch eyes with its redesigned front cap, says Nick Francis, KZ towables product manager.

“The focus of Sportster is to focus on more price points,” Francis says. He adds about the economic conditions that “it seems as though the market has leveled out and manufacturing has started to rightsize.”
