2026 RV PRO RVeterans Honoree Cheyney Arters

From volunteering to stay late or coming in early to finish urgent repairs and keep on schedule, Cheyney Arters does what it takes to ensure the service department at Carefree RV is running smoothly.

“He assists other technicians with difficult diagnostics to help the team stay productive, steps in to handle priority or comeback units to ensure customer satisfaction, helps train and guide newer technicians, and shares knowledge and best practices,” says his nominator. “He communicates proactively with management about job status and potential delays. He’s available on short notice when unexpected service needs arise. His willingness to step up in these situations demonstrates his commitment to both the team and the company’s success.”

President, CEO and founder Steve Miceli says Cheyney leads the technicians with his years of experience, helping further their careers in the industry. His combined tenure and experience have had a significant impact on the workplace, helping to improve overall team performance.

“Cheyney leads by example. He works hard. He completes quality work and he lives and breathes the company mindset of providing a ‘Carefree Experience.’ He is always working to educate and level up our team,” Miceli says. He adds that on the rare occasion they have an issue with a rental or service customer, Cheyney drops everything to give them the “Carefree Difference.”

“He is always the first to raise his hand to handle a tough situation and leads the team by example. When many companies only provide an 800 number or a voicemail, Cheyney has responded to the call timely and provided repairs on nights, weekends and even holidays.”

The go-to guy when a question arises, Cheyney’s years of experience and customer service is well known throughout the Carefree client base and his coworkers, making him an advocate in the industry.

“His strong work ethic and true drive to make the customer experience as best as it can be is very hard to find in today’s workplace. It is an honor to work with him, and I am proud to have him continue to wear our colors and grow Carefree RV,” says Miceli.

What it means to Cheyney to work in the RV industry this long:

For me to be in the industry, it’s the relationships you build with customers along the way, the feeling it give you when others rely on you to keep them serviced and safe so they can go on their journeys and see the beautiful country we live in. It’s all about the customer service and the experience for them.

Cheyney’s advice for younger people just starting their careers:

Be personable, take pride in the work you do and deliver unmatched quality that others don’t provide. Learn as much as you can and be fully versatile in the changing of technologies and be willing to grow with the industry.
