Inside RVWA’s New Foundation: Empowering Women in the RV Industry Through Education & Mentorship
Learn more about the RVWA Charitable Foundation’s impactful initiatives.

The RV Women’s Alliance (RVWA) has consistently championed the advancement of women within the recreational vehicle industry. This year marks the launch of a significant new initiative: the RVWA Charitable Foundation (RVWACF), a registered 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to fostering educational opportunities. As the foundation sets sail, it promises to not only enhance the skills and knowledge of women in the industry but also continue to bring a sense of community and empowerment.
Expanding Educational Opportunities for Women in the RV Industry
The RVWACF’s core mission revolves around expanding and enhancing educational programs tailor-made for their members in the RV industry. The foundation represents the legacy of RVWA through a variety of programs designed to equip women with the skills they need to thrive.
One of these standout initiatives is a series of All-Female RV Systems/Technician Classes. Recognizing the growing demand for skilled female technicians, the RVWACF has added a new night class taking place this summer. Starting June 17 and running through July, these sessions will meet twice per week from 5-9 p.m. ET at the RV Technical Institute (RVTI) in Elkhart, Indiana. The evening schedule accommodates women with daytime commitments, providing invaluable education to prepare for a role as an RV technician or to enhance their RV systems knowledge. This program aims to expand skill sets and improve job performance across various industry roles.
Fundraising for a Cause: RVWACF’s Golf Scramble
The foundation’s educational programs are supported through fundraising initiatives like the upcoming Golf Scramble on June 20 at Meadow Valley Golf Club in Middlebury, Indiana. This event serves as both a fundraising effort and a networking opportunity, capturing the spirit of camaraderie among industry professionals. Participants can enjoy a day on the course with contests and prizes while contributing to a good cause in the RVWACF’s continued need for funding its programs.
Summer Discussion Series: Virtual Learning for RVWA Members
Taking place in June, July and August, the Summer Discussion Series offers virtual events covering contemporary and relevant topics. Participants will explore subjects like “AI and What It Means to You,” “Mastering the Art of Your Perfect Elevator Pitch” and “Strategies for Managing Personal Finances.” This series ensures that members are well equipped with the knowledge and skills needed in today’s ever-evolving world.
Unleashing Your Potential: RVWA Educational Symposium
This year’s learning opportunities will culminate in the highly anticipated Educational Symposium, “Unleashed Potential: Power Up Your Productivity,” held Oct. 15-16 in Chicago, Illinois. We’re thrilled to bring back some of our favorite speakers for this annual event, which features a rich array of workshops, networking sessions and an awards dinner celebrating the remarkable achievements of industry contributors. It’s an invaluable opportunity for learning, connection and inspiration.
More Than Education: RVWA’s Mentorship & Networking Programs
While the Charitable Foundation focuses on educational initiatives, the RVWA continues its critical work in other areas essential to professional growth and community building: mentorship, networking and professional growth.
Mentorship is a foundational pillar of the RVWA’s mission, fostering year-round opportunities for impactful mentor-mentee relationships. This program is designed to nurture personal and professional growth, offering participants the chance to learn from seasoned industry experts and gain invaluable insights. We are constantly seeking participants eager to engage in this transformative experience, whether as mentors or mentees. Through this enriching exchange, individuals can build lasting connections, broaden their perspectives and enhance their skills, ultimately contributing to the strength and advancement of the industry.
Networking is another crucial aspect of that mission with events designed to foster connections. The popular Open House breakfast will again take place at the RV/MH Hall of Fame on Sept. 23. This event is a staple for industry networking, bringing together members to collaborate and share insights.
In addition, the RVWA recently wrapped up its third annual spring campout, an event like no other. This memorable weekend emphasizes the fun and community spirit within the organization and industry.
Get Involved with RVWA: Membership, Events & Educational Programs
The RVWA offers numerous opportunities for learning, growth and connection, all supported by generous sponsors that enable free membership. The RVWACF’s initiatives echo this commitment, ensuring the continued empowerment of RVWA members throughout the industry. This comprehensive approach ensures that women are not only present in the industry, but also thriving and leading the charge into the future.
