Plant Manager – Thor Motor Coach

As plant manager, Vicki oversees all aspects of production and personnel for Thor Motor Coach’s Plant 240 — Class B vans.

How has Vicki demonstrated leadership and innovation within her field.

Vicki has been involved with the Class B van product line since it was opened at Thor Motor Coach. She has worked her way from plant administrator to supervisor, to assistant plant manager to plant manager.

What measurable impact has Vicki had on Thor Motor Coach?

Vicki was responsible for the largest output at any single plant location in the company, producing at the highest volume level — 28 vans per day

How does Vicki contribute to the ongoing support and growth of women in the RV industry?

Vicki has continued her progression through the operations ranks at Thor Motor Coach and has become the first female plant manager. She has motivated many other female employees to aspire to reach higher levels of management.

What challenge(s) has Vicki faced in her career and how did she overcome it?

Early on in Vicki’s managerial career, she showed great drive and perseverance as a female in an operational leadership position. Her nominator says she overcame challenges by displaying her organizational skills, product expertise and by being a powerful leader.

What else should we know about Vicki?

Vicki patiently waited for the opportunity to be elevated to plant manager and has been ready for several years. Her managers and peers recognized her leadership abilities while in a declining market rife with operational reductions. Despite no open positions, Vicki continued to lead from her role as assistant plant manager until a plant manager opportunity arose, which she was able to seamlessly transition into. It is a testament to the team player and leader Vicki is at Thor Motor Coach.

What advice do you have for up-and-coming women in the RV industry?

Get comfortable with who you are and build an unshakable mindset.

Every thought that you have and every action that you do is important. It is these thoughts that become actions, and it is these repeated actions that become habits. Our habits define us and are the foundation stones of our success.

What does it mean to you to be a Women in Business honoree?

I operate with authenticity and a vision every day, with the intention to affect as many people as possible within our team. The opportunity to be a part of this platform and potentially motivate other women toward success is by far an achievement that will have an everlasting impression on me.
