Iowa’s Ames, Boone County on ‘RV There Yet?’

The following report is from the Ames Tribune.

A Discovery Channel show will soon shine a national light on Iowa’s Ames and Boone County.

The show’s stars, Patrice and Kevin McCabe, and crew from a popular travel show “RV There Yet?” filmed in central Iowa in October. The McCabes explored the campground at Ledges State Park, rode the Rail Explorers, toured Reiman Gardens and tailgated at an Iowa State University football game.

The national premiere of the “RV There Yet?” Ames episode will be televised at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19, on Discovery.

“We love RVing in the Fall and when you add in RVing in the Midwest, we get super excited,” Kevin McCabe, aka “Producerman Kevin,” said in an email in October. “When we started researching the location, Ames had it all.

“Camping in a State Park (Ledges), an adventure we’ve never done before (Rail Explorers), a quaint, local downtown shopping district with unique businesses, and a college football team.”

“RV There Yet?” takes viewers on road trips featuring “wild adventures, crazy detours and campfire fun along the way,” according to a news release from the Ames Regional Economic Alliance. The McCabes “hike, camp and eat their way across the United States as they make new friends, learn local history, create memories and inspire viewers to plan their own RV adventures.”
