Australian Q1 Market Report Reflects Brand Strength, New Volatility
The latest Q1 2025 RV Market Brand Consideration Report from Retain Media offers fresh insight into the ever-evolving landscape of Australia’s RV industry. Drawing on more than 3 million search queries across the first quarter of the year, this comprehensive report tracks the most-searched caravan and RV brands in Australia, highlighting major shifts across five key categories: All Brands, Australian-Made, Imported, Discontinued and the newly added category, RVMAP Members.
Some Key Findings:
- Jayco strengthened its lead in both the All Brands and Australian-Made categories, holding 27.5% and 37.0% market share respectively.
- Fantasy Caravan surged from 0.7% to 1.0% in the All Brands category — a 42.9% relative increase — making it the standout performer outside the top 20.
- Crusader Caravans, Snowy River and Avida continued their rise in both the Australian-Made and RVMAP rankings, showing strong consumer momentum.
- The Discontinued category was once again shaped by post-liquidation surges, with Black Series and Highline Caravans each posting relative gains of over 75%.
- In the Imported category, Fantasy Caravan jumped to 3.7%, a 27.6% relative increase, pushing it into the top 10.
“The Q1 report reflects both ongoing brand strength and new volatility,” said Brian Sullivan, director at Retain Media. “Search behavior is increasingly responsive to real-world events and market positioning, and brands that can capitalize on this momentum will continue to lead consumer consideration.”
The report also reveals continued stability from long-time leaders like MDC, Ezytrail and New Age Caravans, while brands such as Tango Caravans and Lumberjack Camper experienced significant search share drops after peaks in late 2024.
With the addition of the RVMAP Members category, this quarter’s report offers deeper insight into how compliance and accreditation may influence consumer perception. As the market continues to tighten, the ability to maintain strong brand visibility online remains a key differentiator.
