2025 RV PRO RVeterans Honoree Susan Carpenter
Aftermarket Manager, B&B Molders, 35+ years in the industry

Susan has devoted her life and career to the RV industry, leaving an indelible mark through her leadership, mentorship and advocacy. She currently leads the Aftermarket Division at B&B Molders and serves as president and founder of the RV Women’s Alliance (RVWA).
In what ways has Susan gone above and beyond for the RV industry?
Susan’s commitment to the RV industry spans decades, beginning long before her official start in 1990. She grew up helping in her father’s RV operation at 8 years old, and she has grown into one of the most respected and visionary leaders in the field.
At a time when women were few and far between in RV leadership, Susan not only stayed the course — she helped chart a new one. She has served on numerous committees and on the board of the RV Aftermarket Association (RVAA), becoming its president, where she was instrumental in guiding its merger with the RV Industry Association (RVIA). Susan is known tackling challenges head-on and working tirelessly to make the industry better for everyone, especially women.
How does Susan’s tenure and experience contribute to the RV industry?
With over 30 years of formal experience, Susan brings unmatched insight and vision to everything she touches. She founded the RVWA in 2019 with a mission to “elevate, educate, and promote” women in the RV industry. In just six years, RVWA has grown to over 2,500 members, becoming a beacon of support and inspiration for women from across the industry.
One of the most visible RVWA projects under her leadership was the “Drab to Fab” renovation — a full restoration of a well-worn RV by a team of women. The finished RV was raffled off to raise funds for the organization. RVWA also hosts an annual Educational Symposium that blends networking with camaraderie, offering women a chance to build meaningful relationships in a supportive environment. The impact of Susan’s work can be seen in connections made at these events and careers advanced by the encouragement and opportunities RVWA provides.
How does Susan mentor or support others?
Susan’s approach to mentorship is rooted in empathy, experience and resilience. Having navigated career challenges on her own, she is committed to making sure others never feel they have to do the same. She is approachable, encouraging and generous with her time and knowledge. Susan leads by example, never hesitating to take on the hard work herself yet always trusting her team and championing collaboration. Delegation, she says, is key to giving both of her professional commitments the attention they deserve.
What else should we know about Susan?
Susan is a cancer survivor, a testament to her resilience and drive. Even in the face of personal challenges, she has never slowed down. She has received two RVAA President’s Awards and the RVIA Aftermarket Chairman’s Award, and has been nominated for several prestigious honors, including the RV Hall of Fame, Jim Barker Award, Elkhart Women’s Leadership Award and RVWA’s Trailblazer Award.

What has it meant to work in the RV industry this long?
Working in the RV industry for this long has truly felt like becoming part of a unique and tight-knit family. Over the years, I’ve seen how much everyone — from manufacturers and dealers to service providers and customers — care about one another and about the experiences we help create. There’s a real sense of camaraderie in this industry; we support each other through challenges and celebrate successes together. I feel proud to be part of an industry where teamwork and genuine connections are at the heart of everything we do.
What advice do you have for those just starting their careers?
My advice to those starting their careers is to be open to learning and embrace every experience, even the challenging ones. The RV industry, like any field, rewards hard work, curiosity and a willingness to go the extra mile. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and seek advice from those around you — there’s so much knowledge to gain from people who have been here before you.
Most importantly, focus on networking. This industry is very much about relationships, and the connections you make will support and guide you throughout your journey. Stay passionate, be patient as you grow and always remember that your integrity and attitude will help you stand out. Embrace the adventure, and enjoy the ride.
