Blue Water Development Kicks Off Annual ‘Blue Turns Pink’ Campaign

This October, Blue Water Development is once again turning its family of resorts and campgrounds pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Now in its third year, the “Blue Turns Pink” campaign will rally guests, team members and local communities with a shared mission: to raise $50,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Atlantic General Hospital (AGH) Foundation, benefiting Burbage Regional Cancer Care Center.

Throughout October, Blue Water properties nationwide will host creative fundraising events and awareness initiatives for all ages. From fun runs to themed activities, each resort will honor those touched by cancer, while directly funding organizations delivering lifesaving research, treatment and care.

Highlights of the 2025 campaign include:

  • Property-Wide Fundraising Events: From pink-themed 5Ks and bake sales to cornhole tournaments and family activities, each Blue Water resort will tailor events to its local community while contributing to the collective fundraising goal.
  • Pink Friday Tradition: Every Friday, Blue Water team members will wear pink and encourage guests to do the same. Shared photos and stories amplify the campaign’s awareness reach across social media.
  • Merchandise for a Cause: Limited-edition “Blue Turns Pink” T-shirts and gear will be available for sale, with all proceeds donated.
  • Guest & Community Giving: Blue Water websites will ensure everyone — near and far — can support the cause.

“The people at our properties are the heart of this campaign,” said Todd Burbage, CEO of Blue Water Development. “Each resort has its own traditions, team and community and when you bring all of that together under one cause, the impact is powerful. Blue Turns Pink has become more than a campaign for us; it’s a reminder that we can stand united to support families, fund research and bring hope to people fighting cancer.”

The AGH Foundation provides resources for healthcare initiatives across Maryland’s Eastern Shore, including screenings and treatment at the Burbage Regional Cancer Care Center. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation funds groundbreaking global studies that aim to prevent, treat, and ultimately cure breast cancer.
