Video: Encore’s Strength Test With a RŎG 12RK

During the 2025 Elkhart RV Open House, Encore RV suspended a 2,200-pound RŎG 12RK from a crane, supported by nothing more than a single strap attached to its rear overhead kitchen cabinet.
The company said it used no tricks, no reinforcements, no modifications — just the same 18 #8 fasteners that secure every other cabinet in the same spot on every RŎG 12RK Encore RV builds.
The strength test was showcased at Encore’s Open House display off County Road 6.
“When you’ve got something to say, there’s no better way than letting your product do the talking for you,” said company founder Rich Schnippel.
Known for his daring demonstrations of product strength — jumping on fenders, climbing ladders, even trying to tear cabinets off walls — Schnippel decided to take things to a whole new level this year.
“We were confident our trailer could handle the stress,” he explained. “But there’s always that question: will it really hold for five days? The thunderstorm and high winds weren’t part of the plan, but we weren’t about to stop once we started.”
Suspended 10 feet above the ground, the trailer remained hanging for five days and five nights, illuminated each evening over County Road 6.
“I don’t think people realized what they were seeing at first,” Schnippel said. “Most assumed we had the strap hooked to the chassis. When they found out it was hanging by the cabinet, the disbelief on their faces said it all.”
Videos of Schnippel’s past “torture tests” have made the rounds before — jumping on trailers, yanking on cabinets, climbing ladders — but this latest demonstration redefines what structural strength really looks like in a modern RV.
