40 Under 40: Kelsey Schrock

Product Interior Designer & Marketing Coordinator; Renegade RV; With company: 3 years | Industry experience: 10 years

As product interior designer and marketing coordinator for Renegade RV, it’s Kelsey Schrock’s job to make the company look good, whether that means keeping up with industry design trends or spearheading community outreach campaigns.

“Kelsey’s role is very important to the progression of our products,” says Product Development Manager Victor Quezada. “The interior aesthetic is a significant driving factor in attracting customers to our brand.”

Kelsey, 36, helps with the interior designs of all eight product lines that Renegade produces, working with the production team to ensure design feasibility and with the purchasing/sourcing team. She also has a great working relationship with all the suppliers she engages with throughout the development phase, Victor shares.

Always challenging the status quo, Kelsey has pushed for various design lifecycle updates across all eight product lines to evolve Renegade RV’s products to a more transitional design aesthetic. These efforts keep dealers excited to sell the brand’s products and see what’s next, Victor adds.

“Kelsey has played a major role in addressing any quality issues that we may endure with design-focused items,” Victor says. “She works with our quality team to ensure they have all the tools they need to identify product expectations. Whenever there are shortages or delayed deliveries on hard surfaces or soft good items, she develops a quick action plan to ensure no interruptions in our production needs.”

Meanwhile, Kelsey has also scaled the company’s community presence with her innovative community outreach ideas, developed a firm foundation for the company’s marketing campaigns and spearheaded the development of the company’s current website platform.

“The result was a more intuitive website with minimal layers and better data gathering tools than our old website platform,” Victor explains. Better lead and performance tracking has helped the team develop more targeted marketing campaigns.

When she’s not working, Kelsey loves to camp in her fifth wheel with her husband and three children. She also enjoys bike riding, college football and country music. She loves animals, particularly horses.

“She is selfless and highly passionate and dedicated to her work,” Victor says of Kelsey. “She loves to give back and never hesitates to help any friends or family members in need.”

Kelsey’s advice for up-and-coming leaders in the RV industry:

I once read a quote that stated, “Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Design is knowing which ones to keep.” I have kept that concept in my mind over the years. I think this concept can be applied in many scenarios because success comes from discipline, hard work and dedication. That doesn’t mean you won’t [face] challenges along the way. It’s what you learn from those experiences and how you apply it that can set you apart from others.

What it means to Kelsey to be a 40 Under 40 honoree:

This is a major accomplishment for me. I have been a part of the industry for 10-plus years and have worked diligently to get where I am at. I am beyond thankful to be a part of such an amazing group of individuals within our industry.
