Black Book released its monthly commentary for December.
“The values of used RVs sold at wholesale auctions dropped quite a bit last month, with motorhome values at some of the lowest levels we have recorded during the past several years. Towables dropped for the fourth consecutive month, with values falling to lows we have not seen for quite some time. Seasonality is certainly playing a role here, as is the ongoing arrival of MY2026 units on dealers’ lots,” said Eric Lawrence, Black Book analyst.
Taking a closer look at the markets, the average selling price for motorhomes was $54,848, which is down $8,830 (13.9%) from the previous month. Towables came in at $15,203, down $1,173 (7.2%) from last month. One year ago, the average motorhome sold for $54,243 and the average towable brought $19,062.
Auction volume was mixed: motorhomes decreased 29.5% while towables rose by 1.5%.
The average age of motorhomes was nine years old (2016) and towables was five (2020).
