CRVA’s 50th Anniversary Campaign Raises Over $80K for Care Camps

The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) announced that its year-long 50th Anniversary RV Giveaway campaign has raised more than $80,000 in support of Care Camps Canada, a charity dedicated to providing outdoor camp experiences for children living with cancer and their families.

Launched as part of CRVA’s 50th anniversary celebrations in February 2025, the initiative brought together RV enthusiasts, dealers, manufacturers, campground owners and outdoor adventurers from across Canada to support the organization’s fundraising efforts throughout the year.

The campaign featured a coast-to-coast CRVA 50th Anniversary RV Tour, where the Association traveled across Canada attending festivals, RV shows, and community events to promote the RV lifestyle while raising awareness and funds for Care Camps. Along the way, thousands of Canadians participated by purchasing tickets for a chance to win a brand-new RV.

The grand prize was a Citation Reward travel trailer generously provided by General Coach Canada of Hensall, Ontario. CRVA extends its sincere appreciation to General Coach for their support of this initiative and their commitment to helping the RV industry give back to this very important cause.

The campaign culminated at The Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show, where the official draw took place live on Sunday March 1. The winner of the CRVA 50th Anniversary RV Giveaway was Denise Magwood of St. Catharines, Ontario.

To support the campaign, CRVA donated $1 for every paid attendee from the 2026 Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show, helping push the campaign’s fundraising total beyond the $80,000 milestone.

“These past twelve months have been incredibly meaningful for our association,” said Shane Devenish, president of the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association. “As we celebrated 50 years in the RV industry and the RV lifestyle in Canada, we wanted to mark the milestone in a meaningful way that gave back, and the response from the RV community was truly remarkable.”

Care Camps supports a network of specialized oncology camps across North America, including 16 in Canada, providing children with cancer and their families the opportunity to enjoy time outdoors, build friendships, and create lasting memories in a supportive camp environment.

The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association expressed sincere gratitude to its members, industry partners, volunteers, event organizers and fellow Canadians who supported the association in its campaign.

“This past year showed the strength and generosity of the Canadian RV community,” Devenish added. “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who purchased a ticket, made a donation, or helped spread the word. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our 50th anniversary while making a real difference towards a truly meaningful cause.”
