Airstream Atlas Touring Coach Transports Artemis Astronauts
Since the Apollo era, Airstream has been woven into the fabric of America’s space program. Read about the OEM’s place in space, including its Mobile Quarantine Facility in the 1960s, here.
That legacy entered a new chapter this week as a custom Atlas Touring Coach, initially developed in collaboration with Boeing and known as the CST-100 Starliner Crew Transport Vehicle, or “Astrovan II,” carried the Artemis II crew to the launch pad on April 1, the company shared.
The same spirit of precision engineering and human-centered design that defines astronauts’ final moments on Earth before liftoff is reflected in Airstream’s consumer-facing Atlas Touring Coach lineup, where performance, comfort and thoughtful design converge for life on the road, Airstream said.
- The Atlas© 25RT, which debuted in 2026, introduced an all-new rear twin floor plan that opens the interior to create a spacious rear pass-through garage, allowing travelers to bring and organize more gear without sacrificing livability.
- The Atlas© 25MS, Airstream’s only model with a power slide-out, merges luxury and functionality. The slide-out remains fully integrated while in motion, preserving the streamlined automotive profile, and extends at the touch of a button to transform the living space upon arrival.
From the launch pad to the open road, Airstream said it continues to design and evolve for journeys where precision, reliability and human experience are critical.
