Winnebago Unveils ARKA Adventure Truck Details

Winnebago recently announced the launch of ARKA, expanding its rugged RV portfolio with an all-new, off-grid, all-season adventure truck for travelers who go farther and rely on their vehicle to support longer stays. Joining Winnebago’s Backcountry Series alongside Revel and EKKO, ARKA is designed to be tough, approachable and reliable, prioritizing durability and real-world performance, Winnebago said in a release.

Made to bridge off-road capability and premium RV comfort, ARKA serves as a self-reliant basecamp, featuring true all-season durability, extended off-grid independence and purpose-driven engineering. ARKA will make its first public debut at Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona, May 15-17.

Designed from the ground up for backcountry exploration, ARKA combines durability with a premium adventure truck experience built to handle demanding terrain and deep-backcountry travel, Winnebago said. A zero-torsion four-point pillow-block system allows the box and cab to move independently, while a one-piece molded fiberglass roof withstands vibration and weather exposure. Built on the RAM 5500 chassis with a 15,000-pound towing capacity, ARKA supports gear-heavy adventure without compromising performance or confidence on, or off, the trail.

Inside, ARKA balances utility with comfort designed to help adventurers recover and recharge. Hydronic heating, heated tanks and floors, advanced insulation and heat recovery ventilation work together to regulate temperature, manage humidity and reduce condensation in temperatures from -10 F to 120 F. A durable, adaptable interior featuring aluminum cabinetry, convertible dinette, modular sleeping options, L-track mounting system and a full-height gear garage with van-style doors allows travelers to transition between remote exploration and everyday comfort, Winnebago said.

ARKA integrates Winnebago Connect, providing centralized control of climate, energy systems, tanks and security from a connected device. Designed to be robust without complexity, its systems are centrally managed and intentionally accessible, supporting reliable off-grid performance through a 48-volt electrical architecture with up to 15 kWh of lithium battery capacity, a 3,600-watt inverter and multiple charging sources including solar, alternator and shore power.

Customization is enabled through a curated range of adventure-ready accessories designed for real world use, building on a platform that delivers confidence right out of the box, the company said. Modular storage solutions and bolt-on interior and exterior options allow travelers to adapt and personalize their setup over time while preserving a focused foundation that includes everything they need and nothing they don’t.

ARKA is engineered to withstand relentless demands of real backcountry travel, leveraging Winnebago’s OEM-level engineering, testing and validation processes beyond typical RV benchmarks, including durability simulations that replicate well over 100,000 miles of combined road and trail input, the company said. The focus isn’t about doing everything; it’s doing the right things well so owners can trust their rig anywhere and make it their own over time.

“Industry standards are the baseline,” said Stefanie Whittington, senior product manager for Winnebago’s compact Class C and adventure platforms. “At Winnebago, everything also has to meet our standards — which means extensive testing, validation and durability expectations that go beyond minimum requirements.”

“ARKA was designed by listening closely to real backcountry travelers,” Whittington noted. “We looked at what breaks down, what creates friction and what gives people confidence when they’re days from pavement. Every decision came back to durability, autonomy and ease of use.”

ARKA builds on the principles that shaped the Winnebago Backcountry Series, a lineup born from real-world travel demands and two core ambitions: to go farther and stay longer. What started with Revel and continued with EKKO now expands with ARKA, Winnebago said. This evolution reflects nearly seven decades of Winnebago learning, craftsmanship and customer insight, continually refined since 1958 to support changing lifestyles and expectations on the road.

Following its public debut at Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona, May 15-17, ARKA will appear at Overland Expo PNW in Redmond, Oregon, June 26-28, and Overland Mountain West in Loveland, Colorado, August 21-23.
