Big Beard Battery has officially acquired a new property in Athens, Texas, establishing an expanded headquarters and launching Road Life Complex, a multipurpose destination designed to support RV owners, travelers and customers from across the country, the company said in a recent release.
Located at 4453 State Highway 31 E, Athens, TX 75752, the newly acquired property — formerly a long-standing RV dealership serving the local community — provides the space needed to support the company’s continued growth, expanded installation services, increased battery production and its DIY Clinics, where RV owners travel to build and upgrade their own power systems.
“This move comes at a time when we’ve outgrown our current space,” said Stephanie Henson, co-owner of Big Beard Battery. “We started in a cargo trailer, moved into a 2,000-square-foot shop and quickly reached capacity again. This new property gives us the room to continue growing and better serve our customers.”
The property will operate as Road Life Complex, bringing together manufacturing, installations, retail access and RV accommodations in one centralized location. The expanded facility includes multiple service bays, additional workspace for battery assembly and system installations, and a storefront where customers can purchase components directly.
A key feature of Road Life Complex is its 23 full-hookup RV sites, allowing customers and travelers to stay on-site while visiting the facility or participating in DIY Clinics. The gated property also offers bathhouse and laundry facilities, creating a convenient and welcoming stop for RV travelers passing through Athens.
“This property allows us to do more of what we’re already known for — more builds, more installs and more DIY Clinics,” Henson shared. “Road Life Complex gives us the opportunity to create a place where customers can build, stay and be part of the community we’ve created.”
Operations at the new headquarters will roll out in phases, with plans to expand production capacity, increase installation availability, reopen a retail storefront and continue growing the services offered at Road Life Complex.
