RoverPass Debuts AI Chatbot Website Assistant
RoverPass, a reservation and property management platform for campgrounds and RV parks, has added AI Chatbot to its product line.
The website assistant answers guest questions using only information the park has supplied, installs on a park’s site with a single line of code, and is configured from the RoverPass Owner Portal. Answers carry a citation to the source entry, and the assistant returns an owner-written fallback message when it finds nothing to support a reply, the company said.
The design constraint is retrieval. The assistant does not answer from general knowledge. On setup it imports the campground’s data from RoverPass, and the operator adds entries covering rates, rules, pet policy, check-in and amenities. Each reply is labeled according to whether it drew on that information, and unanswered questions are logged for the operator to resolve.
“The engineering problem here was not getting it to answer. It was getting it to stop,” said Ravi Parikh, CEO and founder at RoverPass. “Refusing well is harder to build than answering, and in this industry it is worth considerably more. An operator can live with an assistant that says it does not know. They cannot live with one that guesses at a cancellation policy.”
Unanswered questions are grouped onto a single list in the operator’s dashboard. An entry appears there when retrieval returned nothing, when the assistant replied without supporting information, or when a guest rated a reply unhelpful. The operator supplies the answer once and it joins the park’s information from that point forward.
Key capabilities of RoverPass AI Chatbot:
- Single-line website installation, configured from the RoverPass Owner Portal
- Answers restricted to operator-supplied information, each carrying a source citation
- Operator-defined fallback message when no supporting information is found
- Unanswered questions logged to one list and reusable once answered
- Conversation history, guest ratings, response-style settings, and a domain allowlist
“Every reply is tagged with the entry it came from, so an operator can audit any answer in a couple of clicks,” said Angie Tuarez, product leader at RoverPass. “That traceability is what makes the rest of it usable. Without it you are asking someone to hand their policies to a black box and hope.”
Operators select a response style, set the widget’s appearance and test the assistant in a sandbox before deployment. The widget loads only on domains the operator has approved, and each park’s assistant is scoped to that park.
