Outdoorsy Launches Program for Veterans
Outdoorsy has announced an incentive program that creates entrepreneurship and economic opportunities in the recreational travel industry for active-duty and veteran service members. The company is waiving 100 percent of its service fees for the entire first year when active-duty and veteran service members list their RVs on Outdoorsy’s peer-to-peer RV marketplace.
With $1.87 billion spent each day in the U.S., the recreational travel and services industry is experiencing unprecedented growth. Combined with low startup costs and the ability to utilize unused assets, the RV and camper rental industry is a fit for military service members seeking to supplement their incomes or transition into civilian life.
“Service members make for exceptional business owners,” said Outdoorsy’s founder and CEO Jeff Cavins. “They know how to lead teams, work with systems, and have the dedication and perseverance to succeed – no matter what. Our platform provides them with the technology, marketing, and world-class customer service needed to succeed.”
Outdoorsy has a massive network of RV and camper rental business owners who offer support, camaraderie, and advice to new business owners about how to easily scale a rental business to multiple vehicles.
“Service members and veterans are among our most successful pro operators on our platform making anywhere from $20,000 to $100,000 with just one or two vehicles,” said Jennifer Young, co-founder and CMO. “Take Eddie Macias, a Navy veteran, and one of Outdoorsy’s top owners. He lives in Monterey, Calif., and rents out his Forest River Sunseeker to eager tourists. Renting out his RV has given him time back in his day and he plans to expand his business further adding more vehicles and revenue.”
Any active-duty and veteran service member will receive waived service fees for their first year in business (on average representing more than $2,800 retail value) upon listing an RV with Outdoorsy.
