Texas Jellystone Adds 100 Luxury RV Spots
North Texas Jellystone Park is completing a multimillion dollar expansion that includes new waterslides at the Pirates’ Cove Waterpark.
“We keep adding more fun,” said Steve Stafford, general manager of North Texas Jellystone Park.“People like our new campsites and cabins as well as the prospect of trying out our waterslides at Pirates’ Cove. They also love our new homemade ice cream, which we make fresh each day.”
The North Texas Jellystone is completing the final 10 sites of a 100-site luxury RV site expansion this month while also installing two, 65-foot tall and 350-foot long tubular waterslides at Pirates’ Cove Waterpark, which is located next door to the campground. The new waterslides will open in mid-May.
Stafford said the luxury RV sites feature 25- by 85-foot long concrete pads, utility hookups, a built-in fire pit and grill as well as shade awnings over the picnic tables that come with each campsite.
Jellystone Park has also completed the installation of 20 two-bedroom cabins, which gives the park a total of 120 rental cabins.
Stafford said occupancies have been growing about 35 percent each year for the past seven years.
The park is also hiring 15 international students this year to help over the period after early to mid-August when Jellystone Park’s high school and college age employees have to return to school. The park typically hires 400 employees for the peak summer camping season.
