Mountainland RV Hit with Intense Winds
Mountainland RV suffered damage on Monday after fierce winds ripped through Cache Valley in Utah.
“It sounded like a freight train was coming through the office,” said Allen A.C. Crofts, owner of the RV dealership. “The whole roof just blew off.”
This story by Kevin Opsahl originally appeared in The Herald Journal.
The entire metal portion of the roof, in a single piece, was flung through the air over two cars before landing in the parking lot, according to Crofts. The trusses remained.
Only one vehicle, belonging to a customer, was damaged. None of Mountainland RV’s inventory was damaged.
Crofts said the damage to his building surprised him, given it had caused no problems since 1987; and despite the damage to Mountainland RV’s building, it’s business as usual.
“It will probably be a couple weeks before the new roof is on,” Crofts said. “My technicians, we didn’t skip a beat – we sold four trailers yesterday during all of this. Business is still going.”
