RV Volume at Auctions Soar
Black Book recently reported that the average selling price for motorized units in April was $42,591, which is down $2,862 (6.2 percent) from March. Towables came in at $13,792, up $273 (2.1 percent) from last month.
One year ago, the average motorhome sold for $41,149 and the average towable unit brought $13,591.
“RV values at auction were mixed [April], with motorized units taking a big hit, while towables managed a small gain,” said Eric Lawrence, Black Book’s director of specialty markets. “With the exception of February, motorhomes have been dropping consistently since last October. Granted, that could change next month, but we should all be keeping an eye on it. On the volume side, motorized is essentially unchanged, but the volume of towables sold at auction spiked at last month, mirroring the performance of new models.”
