RV Values Dip Slightly as Winter Arrives
Black Book recently released a report for November showing that the average selling price for motorized units was $43,132, which was down $597 (1.3 percent) from the previous month. Towables came in at $12,593, down $459 (3.5 percent) from last month. One year ago, the average motor home sold for $46,718 and the average towable unit brought $13,325.
“As we move further into winter, RVs are continuing to exhibit typical seasonal behavior,” said Eric Lawrence, director of specialty markets. “Both towables and motorized units are down slightly this month, but their rate of decline has slowed. This is the time of year that many dealers take a step back from active buying and selling and focus on completing any improvements to their stores so that they can be up and running when the first spring customers come through their doors.”
Auction volume was down slightly: motorized dropped 9 percent from the previous month while towables declined 5 percent.
The average ago of all units was nine years old.
