Industry Members to Meet with NHTSA in D.C.
RV industry members will be visiting with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on June 4 during RVs Move America Week. The NHTSA visit uniquely positions the RV industry to establish and cultivate a strong and critical working relationship with the agency, according to the RV Industry Association.
The visit focuses on education. NHTSA educates the industry on compliance responsibilities and the industry alerts NHTSA to the unique nature of the RV industry that affect safety identification processes and recall administration.
If you have not registered for the event, there is still time.
“The RV industry has worked hard to repair and maintain our reputation with NHTSA over the last five years through events like this and our annual NHTSA seminar,” said David Mihalick, Thor Industries senior director of vehicle safety and regulatory compliance. “Although the visit to NHTSA is just a small part of the advocacy events, it provides RVIA members with the chance to meet key agency personnel who deal specifically with the RV industry on a daily basis. These interactions and personal contact reduce the fear many have of NHTSA and encourage open dialogue with the agency in the event a situation arises where their help is needed.”
