African Diplomat Tours Hoefer RV Products
On Wednesday, Eswatini’s Hon. Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Senator Manqoba Khumalo, and the U.S. Ambassador to Eswatini Lisa Peterson, along with a contingent of diplomats, toured Hoefer Group’s newest RVs at the company’s Eswatini, Africa, factory.
The event marked the first official unveiling of Hoefer’s newest travel trailer platform, branded as StradaX and NevadaX in South Africa, a variant of which is soon destined for the U.S. market in four floor plans ranging from 17 feet to almost 27 feet.
CEO Charles Hoefer said the new travel trailer designs are ultra-curved, 100-percent, yacht-grade sandwich composite body structures that can manage light, off-road use. The American models will have custom floorplans, each crafted with dealer input in a range of lengths.
“The mission of our company is innovation,” said Hoefer. “We want to innovate every aspect of an RV so that they will be so much more fun to use and can last decade after decade like a well-made yacht. Our roofs can be walked on, and yet the units only weigh 2,000 pounds at 19-feet long with awning, spare tire, full bath, kitchen and large fridge included. The U.S. models will be over-the-top in terms of design and yacht-component integration.”
“We see a business that is right in the center of our strategic roadmap,” said Khumalo. “We are working at creating an export-driven economy, and (Hoefer) is able to export world-class technology that has been used to manufacture these RVs. It’s a truly exciting day and we are looking forward to the growth of this company in the near future.”
Hoefer Group will be exporting fully compliant travel trailers back to the U.S. through a select group of dealers, including Mekkelsen RV in Vermont, Robbins Camper Sales in Florida, and Princess Craft RV in Texas.
