Blog: Should Facebook Marketplace Be a Strategy for Me?
Over the past year there’s been a lot of buzz around Facebook Marketplace. In fact, multiple dealers have been asking how they can take advantage of this new platform. More recently, Facebook has made improvements on its search filters for local shoppers. Some RV dealers who have adopted this solution have already seen some favorable results.
RV and camper dealerships that currently work with us averaged more than 150 leads and 75,000 inventory views. Some dealers have stated Facebook Marketplace is now their top source for leads.
The Facebook Marketplace can be accessed on both desktop and the Facebook App. Facebook states that one out of three users visit marketplace at least once a month. With more than 214 million U.S. users, that’s a lot of sales opportunities.
Marketplace gives a lot of details about the listing including, seller information with a link to a dealership profile, seller location, and vehicle description aggregated from a dealership’s data feed. It also lists activity on post duration, price changes, and the number of views and saves the RV has had.
The communication process of a lead is very straightforward as well.
Facebook leverages its Messenger App to communicate with the dealership. As an RV dealer, you can see all of the consumers’ information in their profile once they open dialogue with you.
Communicating via the Messenger App on both desktop and mobile will take a commitment from the dealership. Facebook awards those that respond quickly to consumer’s inquiries. They also have recently released a click-to-call feature for customers that prefer to talk to a person instead of Messenger.
As 2020 approaches, it doesn’t hurt to take a look at Facebook Marketplace. It’s a new strategy for generating sales opportunities and classifying yourself in a marketplace that isn’t flooded with competition.
