Newmar Promotes Howard and Whitehead
Newmar Corporation recently promoted two people from within its sales organization.
Effective Aug. 1, Michelle Howard takes on the newly created role of sales manager, with responsibilities for oversight of the Newmar sales administrative staff in addition to the customer experience department for which she been managing for several years.
Howard started at Newmar in June 2012 as a sales coordinator. She later developed and served as Newmar’s customer experience coordinator. Soon after, she expanded that role into a manager’s position as the personal service her department provided increased in popularity.
“The entire Newmar sales team is so excited to have Michelle’s hard work be rewarded with a leadership role in this department,” said Jay Kinney, Newmar’s director of sales. “To have been a part of and being able to witness Michelle Howard’s growth professionally here at Newmar has been a pleasure and privilege.”
In another promotional move this past April, Nick Whitehead was promoted from his role as product trainer to the position of account manager in Newmar’s central region. Whitehead takes on the responsibilities left by 40-plus year RV veteran Rick Powell, who retired soon after Newmar’s dealer meeting and 2020 model introduction in Orlando, Fla., in April.
Powell had been with Newmar nearly 7 years. Whitehead joined Newmar in July 2017.
“Nick had done a terrific job as product trainer here at Newmar and had taken our company’s training initiatives to an entirely new level,” said John Sammut, Newmar’s VP of sales and marketing. “The dealers with whom Nick interacted appreciated his contributions, so it made this next step to account manager a logical one.”
