Dell Sanders of Florida’s JD Sanders RV Center Dies

Dell Mitchell Sanders, 70, of Gainesville, Fla., died on Oct. 20 with complications from COVID-19.

An Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War, Sanders and his family owned JD Sanders RV Center, an RV Dealership founded in Gainesville in 1971 by his parents, J.D. and Dorothy Sanders.

Sanders served as president and in other leadership positions in the RV industry in Florida and for the National RV Dealers Association. He retired in January 2020.

Sanders was also very active with service clubs in the Gainesville area.

A private family service was held this weekend at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home in Gainesville, and a webcast was available to friends and colleagues. His parents preceded him in death.

JD Sanders RV was bought out by RVRetailer in January and has since been rebranded as RV One Superstores – Gainesville.
