NeXus RV Faces Fines for Handling of Hazardous Chemicals
NeXus RV faces close to $19,000 in proposed penalties for violations related to hazardous and flammable chemicals, according to a report in the Elkhart Truth.
The report said that there are 11 serious violations and one non-serious violation spelled out in a March 16 notice from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in the Indiana Department of Labor. Many were related to the use of flammable chemicals like isopropyl alcohol, which was found being kept in a sports drink bottle instead of a labeled container, according to the notice.
The safety order and notification of penalty was issued following inspections between Sept. 30 and Nov. 30. The inspection was opened after OSHA received a safety complaint at the end of September, according to U.S. Department of Labor records.
